Individulized, quality education where the student comes first.
Hey! My name’s Brian. Sports have always been something I’ve enjoyed, both watching and playing. Growing up I played roller Hockey and now, for the past five years, have played summer baseball. I still enjoy watching hockey, football, and baseball.
Born in Nashville, I escaped before I had to listen to too much country music. Having lived in Edmonton and traveled widely, I can say there is no place like home. Used to be a Graphic Designer, still occasionally dabble in Multimedia. I’ve worked in Canada’s Parliament and Ontario’s. I teach English and Social Studies at any level; French, Math, and Science up to Grade 10; and Phys Ed. not at all. I love to cook and eat spicy food. I once rebuilt a 1963 Studebaker.
I grew up in Edson and moved to Edmonton right after high school to attend the University of Alberta where I first completed a Bachelor of Sciences with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. Once I had completed that I went on to complete a Bachelor of Secondary Education. I have been married for 2 years to the greatest woman in the whole world. I have travelled to Quebec, California, Jamaica and Mexico. I have only just recently returned from a 12 day trip to India where I was able to do some sight-seeing in Bombay, New Dehli and Agra. My passion lies in teaching Math and Physics, but when I’m not doing that I enjoy indulging in all my oh so nerdy hobbies; primarily video games but also a good amount of pen and paper RPG’s as well as board games.
I was born in Edmonton and have travelled to Western Europe twice and have seen both east and west coasts of Canada and the U.S. I have been married for 37 years and have two sons. We camped in many provincial and national parks in Canada and the Western U.S. state parks and visited Disneyland and Disneyworld. Also I’ve been on cruises to Hawaii and the Caribbean. I have taught kindergarten to Grade 9 with three school boards. English as a second language to adults and gave music lessons in piano to many children. I play bridge, canasta and Mah Jungg and belong to a Book Club, volunteer at the airport and at a Gift Shoppe. Every day I walk for an hour, go to the Curvess and do Zumba. I enjoy gardening and have lots of flowers in my house and yard. I enjoy seeing children learn and understand and it gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to help them achieve results, especially in Math and Reading.
I taught in the Philippines, Canada and USA. I enjoy teaching math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry). Besides teaching, I spend most of my time skiing and scubadiving.
My name is Mehran. I am a certified Math/Science teacher and currently work with Edmonton Public Schools as a substitute teacher.
I graduated from the University of Alberta in spring of 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I majored in English and minored in Biology, a weird combination, I know, but I’ve always believed that you should follow your inclinations when it comes to education. I’m currently attending Grant MacEwan University and enjoy fantasy novels.
Hi!
My name is Amanda. I have always loved math and science, but also have a love of teaching. As a high school student I taught private flute lessons to students and this led me in my career path. I first completed a Bachelors of Science at the University of Alberta with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I then went on to complete my education degree. When I teach I am passionate about the subject areas I teach but also like incorporate a good sense of humour into my lessons. Kim David

Ash My name is Angie Parenteau. I have been the Director at A&D Tutoring since 1998 after completing my B.Com. at the University of Alberta. I work with students in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, and Statistics. I grew up in Edmonton, and spent my youth as a dancer taking jazz, ballet, and tap. The majority of my students think of me as a math geek, and I am. After my husband and I had our son in 2010, I realized how the parents who bring their children to us must feel. We endeavour at our office to make sure that each and every student is helped to achieve their educational goals. I am amazingly lucky to have the most incredible job in education, working one on one with teenagers. Some people (parents included) call me crazy for working with that age group. I say it keeps me young. J What I always tell my students is to follow what makes them happy, and fulfills their dreams. Though I was a Marketing major, I followed mine, and now I am a teacher. I don't know everything, but I do know how to learn. Humility and perserverance make a great learner; and a great learner makes a great teacher.
I love learning and have expansive interests that include Physics, English, Math and Social Studies. I am a January 2011 graduate of the University of Alberta. My Bachelor of Education Secondary, major physics, minor english, is a testament to my appreciation of learning - be it within the humanities or the sciences. I spend most of my time tutoring and nearly all of it learning or creating. I read books (nearly always fantasy or science fiction), write stories, play soccer, design games, go camping, play video games, appreciate local music, and volunteer for both the Vegans and Vegetarians Association of Alberta (I've been vegetarian for over a decade and happily adopted a vegan diet less than one year ago) as we as the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. It's a mix, yes. But that's what I do and who I am - I harmonize discrepancies and savour the wealth of diversity. I am eclectic yet structured. I am a learner, a teacher.
